Is this typical? To add 30'-50' of mono to between lead-core line and lure.

Also, I didn't realize its ok to plunge the walleye back into the water when bringing em up from deep.

I just don't want another thing to have to "refine." I'm also short one rod storage and I'm pretty sure my wife said she'd murder me if I continued to buy fishing poles.

use lead core on the river and lake for about 10 years and it does work ive had some good days with it. Lead core have a learning curve. its like anything new you have to trial and error.
