I consistently put weight 50 ft in front of lure. After that is adjust as you go. Precision trolling app has a 50/50 rule that can get you in the ballpark but it always comes down to paying attention and adjusting.

There is book online or app if have cell phone that works good I like lead core more so unless crazy deep like salmon or on lakers in deep water.
