Over population, and then they build right up to the brush, it would tough to stand and watch your home go up in flames

why they have fires all the time
1. Fire suppression for damn near a century
2. People (downed power lines or arsonists have started some, plus a lot more folks living on the urban-wildland interface)
3. Santa Ana winds blowing during driest part of season (cue the Steely Dan)
4. Redacted for fear of getting yelled at, but it rhymes with blimate frange

One of the biggest problems they have out there especially in that particular area is there forested hills are not actually true Forest but instead a bush called Chaparral which is more or less gasoline on a stick. So you have hillsides that grow to full size in just a few years with brush and grass that is EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE then put that together with some Santa Ana winds and people who allowed too much brush and too much Timber too close to their homes and you got yourself a bad recipe! Even worse these people have a nasty tendency in that particular City to use Boxwoods as hedges for privacy yet boxwoods are an Evergreen and are highly flammable themselves and they tend to put these damn things right up against their house which is always a genius move in fire country. Seeing countless examples today of people that cut fire breaks 70 yards from their homes but then the last 30 yards they fill up with brush and bushes somehow forgetting that the embers we'll cross that gap quite easily.

Yeah because we know they're all bad people deserve to have their homes destroyed! I mean really Mann some of the stuff burning down there are trailer parks. pretty sure those arnt your standard left wing West coasters! Now I'm not going to lie Barbra Streisand's house is right in the line of fire and I'm probably not going to shed a tear if her house goes kerpoof. Now the other hand Anthony Hopkins house I'd be kind of sad because I always got a kick out of it. It looks like a house you would find in the countryside of Britain instead of out on Point Dume. Andd his next door neighbor's house looks like a goddamn UFO. If it survies past today which doesn't look overly likely you may have to check it out it's quite the entertaining contrast and coincidentally right above where the Statue of Liberty was in the Planet of the Apes and just down the street from Tony Stark's house in iron man.

California. They are either on fire or in a flood. And I somewhat tend to agree with 1804. Are their good people out there, sure. But most are a bunch of liberal nut jobs. And if you don't think how they vote and for whom they vote is bad for this country, well then I guess you better take a second look.

my cousin who lost his home is a staunch out-spoken conservative

there are lots of them - they’re just outvoted

because the libs know they can’t be voted out they can treat government like their plaything, try to outlib each other

Paradise is the same town that had to evacuate due to the near dam failure (last year?)

talk about unlucky

Pretty easy to post up election Maps to show leanings you know kind of like this one showing your County voting for Obama in 2008!
