actually, my whole life where i fished in Manitoba you couldn't use live bait, (whiteshell park) and Ontario. Lake trout fishing we used tube jigs and scent, a local native stopped and fished with us he could use live bait. It wasn't fair.

A few west lake rivers haven't been worth a darn since mid-January. I started marking fish high in the water column between Christmas and New Years. Some holes I've drilled have vented H2S.
