I was flicking thru channels this morning and on Midwest Outdoors a guy was doing like a prime rib sandwich/French dip with ah jus but with goose breast. Looked really good.

Sorry, can't remember the website he said to go to, to get the recipe.

These were flying over Minot this morning

My son told me one of his friends has seen a small flock of snows west of town.

Yep, I saw numerous flocks heading north yesterday over Bismarck.

Couldn't help but wonder if those birds knew something I don't, or if they were going to live to regret their decision?

Not a waterfowler and know there are local geese all winter but sure seems like a lot of geese flying around Bismarck the past 4-5 days. Saturday afternoon saw multiple large groups flying north in formation higher than the locals typically cruise.

So it begins darks run interference first,I thought all the snow from texas east would have these birds hangin tight on the Gulf... (of America),Midwest temps in the 40's and 50's already, couple trucks went thru the ice already,no snow cover, black ice on shallow lakes, poor bastards with skid houses still out

No it's not beginning, it's the middle of Feb. Lots of winter left with no open water. Snow and colder temp coming next week. If it was middle of March maybe but not February.

We have alot of open water here. Just out and probably about 5-10k honkers and 5 k snows on Oahe. It won’t get cold enough to freeze it up this year. Lots migrating in high right now.
