Fished a lot on Lake Huron in years past, spring fishing in the fog was the worst.. Hearing a boat running on plane while trolling was a pucker factor X10.

Some of you may remember the collision down at Hazelton as someone going upriver had his bow in the air and didn't see a boat drifting down in the community fishing hole area.

And, of course, the boating incident up at DL that cost a young woman her life.

Bottom line, as the captain/operator of a boat...it is absolutely incumbent on you to operate safely by not over-running your vision and this isn't just a southern problem.

14 or so boat accidents on dl late 90s early 2000 at least two deaths with the trees and debri. If a person thinks back i hit things going slow. And u see a guy wide open in a spot where u just hit a stump
