In my teenage years I've probably witnessed at least a half a dozen moose with brain worm. Game wardens told us they weren't allow to "dispatch" them until they were no longer able to lift their head. Hard to watch an animal suffering like that for so long.

Looks like the buck I shot with my bow last year. First weekend of rifle season and it had a pencil neck and could see his ribs plain as day. Something wasn't right with him so I put him down. Idk what he weighed but it couldn't have been but about 125lbs. If I could figure out how to post a pic from my iPhone I would but this technology business isn't for me.

Update-I guess I'm not as dumb as I thought!

I can tell you what's wrong with that deer, KDM. She's contracted CWD from all of your evil bait piles. How do you sleep at night?!

I sleep with my wife, under a sheet with a couple blankets on top and the dog at the foot of the bed. Why do you ask?? As far as the "evil" bait piles, the bird food is in a bucket, not a pile, which is WAY WAY different and I can't help it if the deer like bird food.

So sex with horses is a thing in Wisconsin?
Sick bastages.

I was cleaning fish at the fish station last year, and my buddies wife about passed out when the fish wiggled while being filleted. Everyone has different tolerance levels. This deer may or may not make it. I don't like seeing anything suffer either, but a fish flip is part of the process.

Just an update on "Raggedy Ann". She's looking and moving a bit better. Maybe with a steady supply of corn, soybean screenings, and hay, I can get her fattened up. Anyway, she appears to be putting on a bit of weight as of last night.

Maybe she has a couple of fawns nearby that are sucking the life out of her this Christmas season like my better half's 3 kids are doing to me!

Yeah, who knows what's up with this critter. It didn't look like her ribs were sticking out as much and her hind end didn't look as sunk in as before, but maybe she just had her hair puffed up. She did move a bit better when this pic was taken and she came back in a couple of times throughout the night that I have pics of. It was nice to see she's still up and kickin' and them stinky butt sniffin' yotes didn't take her down yet. We'll see if she makes it through this snow squall we're having and the low temps. Time will tell.

Good to see she is still kicking. Mabey she will figure out she can just go over the dike for the day and come back at night. Little less chance of the yotes getting her there versus in the hills.

Raggedy Ann is still with us, but it's getting tougher to pick her out.....and even looks to be puttin' some fluff back on her body. Added some sunflowers to the mix to increase the oil content of the bird food and it seems to agree with her. Anyway, thought I would give you guys and update as winter is here and the ice fishing pics aren't flowing and just because I like watching the deer.

Might be a lost cause camoman, but what the hell. The Mrs. has taken a liking to her and it puts a smile on my face to see she's still kicking. The down side is that even if I can get her back in shape, I won't know it. I won't be able to tell which deer is her. She came in with another doe tonight and I had to look pretty close to recognize her.

Not that anybody but me really cares, but I'm declaring VICTORY!!! Here's "Raggedy Ann" based on what I assume to be scars on her upper left shoulder that ruffle the hair a bit. As of now that's the only thing I have to go on as this deer looks pretty damn good right now and I haven't seen a deer with her ribs sticking out in quite a while. That and this doe comes in by herself all the time, just like Raggedy did before. I could be wrong, but I'm going to run with the notion that this is her.
