Question: have there ever been tournaments that have a trailering take-off? In other words everyone starts out from the parking lot - like ice fishing at the South Beach casino. :D

Did the rules this year require you to fish all three to fish the championship? Or was the championship open to all?

It looks like other states have set up there AIM format with 4 qualifiers. Do they only take into account the top 3 scores from the 4 qualifiers?

I do not know what other states are doing but I know in ND they are suggesting 4 qualifying events with each team picking their three best. Not sure why they pick because it's obvious if you fish all 4 you will be picking your best three.

I also am not sure if you have to qualify by points or if just fishing a total of 3 qualifiers gets you in. Last year, if you fished the needed qualifiers you were in for the state championship.

A 350, but will that put me in the top 4?

I ask with a question again. Why do you want the 350 over the 150?

I fished the AIM and I will fish it again and again, I am from Mandan, Its on the Missouri River and saw Bismarck-Mandan guys be the Majority at all of the Tournaments. I also fished Devils Lake and I didn't see the support that I thought I would from the FM Walleye club constituents. I expected that the forums would light up and say I didn't fish the tournament because I am already in too many.....I didn't fish the tournaments because I don't think that the tournament schedule is fair. Plain and Simple this is the ONLY Circuit that has had faith in ND in the past couple years either get in them or the Series will go away. The 3 out of 4 tournaments is the way it has to be to have bigger fields and bigger payouts. Their will be 4 qualifiers and 1 state championship, BUT based on the participation from the East side what would make anyone think that they should cater to having 6-10 guys fish and everyone else travel. I would fish in the Road ditch if there is money involved. Denny Fox would appreciate any email on how to get the East side guys to play he has got lots of input from the Central and West. I plan on fishing all four and the Championship next year, and the National Championship. Get on board Guys its the way of the Future, Lets embrace it and Have fun.

It's going to be a difficult situation for me next year. I like my local tournies that have been doing for years. I about killed myself doing 9 tournies this year. I would like to do the AIM but with two kiddos soon I will need to pick and choose. Kinda depends on the schedule next year.

It's fun fishing a bit more stress free because not dealing with decisions on fish and I like the fairness in how team points are calculated. Put over 800 bucks just into entries so hoping the field stretches next year just so on off finishes a entry fee can be recouped. Or I just need to find bigger fish and get friggin bit. Ha.

I agree i think it is the future of walleye tournaments and would love to see it grow. I do think it will take some time to grow and catch on. I also think it will be tough to get alot of Fargo/Jamestown/Valley City folks interested when all the tournaments are 200-300 miles away for most from that region. And with no boundaries the time it will take to prefish a Sakakawea or Missouri River tourney for non locals is staggering. I also think thats why you seen 90% of the entries from the Central/Western part of the state.

You only have to fish 3 of the 4 events to qualify for the state championship....where you finish has zero bearing on your ability to fish the state championship.

But no boundaries on Devils this year that's not alot of water? Where do you want the tournaments Ashtabula,Red River, Devils lake and the championship in Metigoshe? The idea of tournaments is to highlight the lake you are fishing and attract tourism to that lake.

why don't you try to fill the tournaments they have now instead of trying to add another tournament with only 40-50 boats in it

Having 4 events still means you only need to fish three qualifiers. So it hasn't added strain actually allows people to pick their three.

I do wish they had boundaries. Sure part of it is because I have a slower boat but if they want more anglers they should consider that there are other anglers out there with smaller boats and smaller motors. If the fishermen are fishermen they shouldn't need to run 30 miles to get them. Maybe I am wrong but I think it turns people off to have unlimited boundaries. Tough to compete when bigger fish are accessible moreso to big boats and motors.

Or maybe I am just whining ;-)

well lets look at the NWT on oahe that just took place... several of those guys were running 100+ miles one way... they were not fisherman? I beg to differ fish in different parts of the lake are being affected by different weather patterns and sometimes are in a more positive mood vs a negative one and understanding that is all part of being a fisherman and knowing how the fish are responding to their environment

why the reata is going bye bye I'm guessing, I think boundaries are good and needed depending on the type of tournament, if nitro and warrior are sponsoring a tournament I am guessing they want to see fields of guys running their boats and telling people how the only way they got the fish they did was their boat motor combo. Gov cup and DWC fairly small boundary any boat in the field can run it, when the weather permits and still have adequate fishing time.

naw the reata is going bye bye because it doesn't fish the way I would like it too, storage and such is limited, and the lack of a kicker motor are the major things for me, and if I add a kicker motor to it the performance will be drastically reduced. It is not a "bad" boat it just does not fit the way I want to fish.

Not at all and no one has suggested this.. Although you seem to really take offense that someone has a problem with not having all the tourneys on the Missouri River chain. How about something like Missouri River, Ashtabula, Sak, Devils, and Championship either Devils or SaK

And some type of boundaries on Sak would be reasonable i believe. Just my thought though.
