I got an email back from one of my state representatives saying that there won’t be time during the special session to address this issue but plans on taking it up during the regular session in January. Probably for the best to give time for the dust to settle and see what other states are doing to work with this new ruling.
Oh, and have you been in contact with the legislators in your district on correcting these issues regarding suppressors, SBRs and SBSs? If not, why? If you have, what has been their response?
I have a bill draft ready to go and will be sending it out the my district 33 senator and representatives this evening. I'm just finishing up my email to them, and would be happy to share it with others that want to reach out to their district leaders to ask for their support.

people buying right now arent using their brains. if they do legalize them, which its looking like they will, prices should drop SIGNIFICANTLY! You know they will build them in china for a fraction of the cost of those being made stateside.
Supply will be UGLY while current gun shops who aren’t class III bring in stock, and everyone with an FFL and 96 of their closest friends try to order “at cost”.

It’s not just people waiting to buy, it’s LARGE numbers of shops not currently selling.

ATF will no longer get enforce fo
North Dakota law still needs to be changed because it requires compliance with the NFA. They specifically said their Open Letter does not affect state or local laws that govern NFA items. I've had conversations with some legislators and I'm quite sure it will be fixed in the upcoming session but I would be careful until that time.

I believe Armstrong directed Wrigley to join the state ATTY Gen’s that were in the TX suit. Likelyhood ND would pursue criminal charges for current NFA items is pretty doggone slim. I’d go so far as to say if you’re charged/convicted of anything concerning waived NFA Items due to the current state law, you probably EARNED that charge.

Grand scheme, the legislature now has an opportunity to make it extremely difficult for suppressors and SBR/S to ever be back onto some kind of “list” or worse, confiscated.

I just recently purchased one and it took less than a month from ordering to arriving. That seemed about half the time from the last time I got one.

My question is more so, are there still all the needed BS for purchasing one, and how long do I need to wait for the BS to subside?

Like walk in and fill out a bit of paperwork, and walk out with it, or as close to that as one can get.

Not wanting all the trust, and lawyer nonsense.

Scheels make it easy - but there’s still fingerprints, forms, and wait for ATF review. 😡

Just waiting on state law changes. They could have done it in the recent special session but were too busy discussing kratom and public officials signing NDAs with private developers. Will have to wait for next scheduled session unless Atmstrong calls a special to get it done.

Would have been tough to do during the special session because DOJ still had an appeal possibility in place and even up until now, until we got ATF guidance, there wasn't much value in legislation until we knew what issues had to be addressed with state law. Doubtful he'll call a special session for this but we should push for any current legislation to have an emergency clause so it will go into affect immediately upon the Governor's signature.

Currently in ND due to state regs, you still have to do a form 4 and fingerprints. Online submissions without an trust are running 1-4 days for the approval to come back. When the approval comes back you go back to the shop, fill out a 4473 (same form you fill out for a retail firearm purchase) and you’re done.

No need to build this goofy trust business?

No, unless you’re wanting to let someone (like your adult kid or a friend) use the muffler when you’re not with them. Due to current state law, technically that’s still a “No-go” without a trust naming them.

I didn't ask him particulars but said it wasn't even close to the hoops he jumped thru for the first one.
the hoops expire after a year - so if you wait a year between purchases your back to full hoopage

ask me how I know 😒
