Still "shopping" buck...last week drove the 2024 Chevy 2500 Silverado gasser/LTZ trim...freakin nice! Tomorrow going to Ford drive the F250 7.3 gasser/XLT trim...Ram 2500 not an option don't like any of the Ram trims!

I've tried the summit pole in open water @Shockwave, if your stationary or moving slow it'll work, but if you want to bounce around it's likely not going to hold up very well.
Summit makes a stabilizer plate now that fixes the problem. Summit pole set up is still much cheaper than the other options.

I have the 7.3 gasser and I think it’s awesome. The 10 speed transmission is nice too.
Honk - what year is yours? How's gas mpg when not pulling anything?

It’s a 2023. Gas mileage is better than my 6.2 was. Overall avg 14.2mpg. Hiway depends on wind but without bucking wind 16-17+ hwy

JMF - drove the 2024 F250 yesterday with the 7.3 gas...here are my quick thoughts:
heavy/sluggish feel compared to the Chevy
interior/creature comforts comparable
Chevy comes with more "standard" features such as:
factory/Chevy bed liner
garage/home remote program
soft leather wrap/heated steering wheel
plus many more Chevy 3/4 ton trucks in the market
comparable trim lines Chevy LT to Ford XLT - the Chevy averages $4K less
just my initial thoughts after driving/researching both

Finfan the Chevy 2500-3500 are the exact same with the exception of over load springs on the rear axil that never touch unless it’s a big payload. So you have more options when you look
