Anything notable out there for 2025? I’m at the point where I don’t need much and haven’t seen anything too exciting this year. Anything on your must buy list?

Still outfitting the hub shelter for the kids so will look at some accessories there. Always a sucker for a few new jigging spoons too.

I'm in the market for new bibs. I really want another Frabill I3 bibs, but looks like Frabill has stopped making much of their ice gear. Tried on Striker and Eskimo at Scheels last year and they both felt bulky compared to the Frabill. I really disliked the two-piece design with the detachable liner.

I'm very close to being in the market for new bibs and a jacket... but, I'm not seeing anything overly exciting at all. Otter sonar sled - meh.... seems like a waste of money to me. If they were going to make a sonar sled they should've stuck with a longer version that you can drill a hole, slide your sled over it, and sit in the sled with your accessories to keep off the ice.

Good question. There some you recommend?

I like that bibs cover the transition at the waist to keep wind out when bending or kneeling. And the suspenders prevent sagging.
I have had a pair of Cabelas gortex insulated pants for many years that have served me well but they need replacing soon. I see guys that nearly have to undress with bibs on just to take a leak so I have been slow to convert to bibs.

I have the highest insulation eskimo pants and have no complaints. If I remember correctly they have a built in plumbers crack protector on the suspenders to avoid and unwanted cool breezes while bending over.

They are a bit bulky but I tend to wear sweatpants underneath to avoid any extra bulk

picked up a pair of the fxr ice fishing line- excursion bibs with the matching jacket on sale last year. really like them. a little bulky but super warm and the price was right. Not sure how the float system works with them, hopefully never have to find out. i would recommend them.

That sounds unpleasant. I figured everyone just unrolled the hose to get up and over the bib front.

Bismarck Scheels had their ice show last week. I walked in the the Clam 1200 double hub and about keeled over. That's a big hub with a lot of room for activities. I am waiting to actually see Marcum's live imaging set up. There's some youtube videos and some websites have it listed but have yet to see one. Those are the only two things that have caught my eye this year but I don't need either one. Just like last year, I will probably go this year without buying anything new.

I wish someone made a true flip over with no pole extensions that wasnt so small width wise. Sort of like a man and a half. The current ones are pretty small and no floor room. Don’t really need the headroom but would be nice to have enough for two holes plus the live scope.

I had to replace my old striker bibs after a solid eight years. Unfortunately, the economically priced clams gave me front and back wedgies. I decided to get another set of striker apex bibs and burn my scheels gift cards. They fit incredibly well though.

Have you looked at the otter hideout? I went from a clam kenia to that otter and it is quite a bit roomier.
