I hope they consulted the theater community before constructing that hideous waste of space.

No need to since there was not a theater there prior to this new ramp. I do know it was a popular shore fishing area with access and losing that will be a big blow to the shore fishing crowd.

Why won't you be able to shore fish there?
1 - the extension of the rock jetty N of the ramp will change the current
2 - they put a boat ramp a stones throw north of the honey hole.
3 - the boat traffic will go directly over where on is trying to fish.

One boat ramp has zero to do with the other. the boat ramps on the river are over crowded as they are so trading one boat ramp for another does not solve the problem.

I am really interested who thought an amphitheater below a major interstate bridge is a good place to put one

Lincoln, kinda...
Yeah, it's not the steepness of the ramp that I dislike, it's the current speed. You are routinely dealing with a current in the range of 1.5 - 2.5 mph. It's not a great place to launch or recover by yourself.

Has anyone else used the new Mandan Ramp yet? I was there over the weekend and it is a little tricky with the way that water swirls in there. It pushes the back of your boat up river right towards the rock jetty.

The hole that ramp leads to has always had a strong clockwise eddy.
