hate 'em. Plan on routing up a wooden frame around mine to cover up all but the numbers/letters, the legendary ND and of course where the sticker goes. ugly/flimsy!

They look like that fake plate that comes with the license frames you buy at wal mart n truck stops.

You guys do realize this isn't a new thing right? Hell SD went to flats nearly a decade ago and various states have been using them since the year 2000. Not sure if you guys have noticed but over the last few years many of our old plates have started to have there paint flake off so a new run was inevitable. I know people hate change but this one seems to be pretty minor over all.

a burning pile of trees would have sufficed, roaming bison are everywhere though i suppose.

I believe they just print these? Am I right? You buy a vehicle and get plates the same day?.. I know that's what they do in MN.

Anyhow, I wouldn't want any prisoners to get a blister setting type for my old plate.

I'm guessing that the actual prisoners don't make plates anymore, and haven't for a while.

That would be inhumane.

FWIW, I have seen a bunch of the "old" plates with half or more, of the finish flaked off. They don't look great..

The best thing about them is they're supposed to last longer and work way better for electronic license plate readers. ;:;bowdown

Exactly what are you guys hauling that makes you worry that the new plate is flimsy?

Mine get krinkled by snow banks and deer and make me look like a crappy driver.

Well if youre backing into snowbanks and using the front plate as a deer deflector I don't think its the license plate making you look like a crappy driver...... or do you mean the deer have it out for you and kick the plates when you park? but honestly only crinkle I've ever had was from using the plate as a signal to tell me exactly where my trailer was at once or twice.....
