I guess it on the badlandsbassbandits Facebook page they are having a discussion about it. The video I’m talking about
If it wasn't an illegal catch then why was the video taken down? Sounds fishy

The guy that caught it, the guy(a deputy) that netted it and the GNF employees that verified it have all said it was legally hooked so that's good enough for me. Not sure why people feel the need to keep doubting it. It probably won't last long any way.

Not really. Lots of things could have happened after it got in the net. They said the line was wrapped around it, maybe that's what he was doing. I don't see a white jig in that video but it's too poor quality to make anything out anyway. It's a god damn fish and just a stupid record FFS.The video that got taken down raises a huge red flag, and I'm also wondering if the deputy is worried about being caught lieing as it will question his moral character.
is that in the fish or the net? It's not his job to prove it wasn't snagged it's the other people to prove it was. If he's going to let the game and fish take ANOTHER look at it it should be pretty straight forward.
It already has been verified as the new state record. Good luck changing their minds. And quite frankly who really cares. You get your name in a book under state record walleye. No different than the guy that has his name under the state record goldeye or bullhead. Yes it would be cool but I doubt the guy that caught the one last year is sitting in his basement with a bottle of booze crying asking for an investigation. I bet he would be the first to shake his hand and say congrats what a fish. What is next for some of you "Not My State Record Walleye"
Gonna be hard to prove the jig didn't come out of it's mouth and got snagged while in the net. Like I said it's just a stupid fish and record. If the guy can live with a lie so be it, not hurting me in the least. We had a bogus record for 60 years I can stand another one for as long as it lasts which I don't expect to be very long.If you watch the vid you can see and hear the guy pop the jig from its back with pliers and then the camera pans back as if the guy left the jig on the ground there as the netter kept walking.
