You can save some money on windows by watching for someone replacing windows in their house. you can use the window portion only with hinges. Usually the glass is fine on windows being removed and the frames wear. Most people will give them away so they idon'thave to dispose of them.

I'm gonna get flack for the price, but consider tinning it. Protects wood against the elements and then you really have a long term solution. Especially on the roof. I used the siding to hang over for a gable end to protect sideways moisture that we tend to get here from time to time. Other than that, P2000 insulation and 18" slider windows does the job for me. Oh and a cheap storm door from menards did the trick for me. Plus gets you a bonus window that you can black out with a towel if you wish.
If it rained; ZERO danger of anything being shot by me.

I once knew a guy who got a "direct order" to "stop farting in the vehicle". It wasn't me.
At Christmas in the year of our lord 2001, I cleared out my sisters basement, as the tree and celebration was all happening. I am proud of that day, the rest not so much. It is also the day my oldest was born, so it was time for me to get back to the hospital and do my husbandly duties anyway.

Not sure if this is legal....wear a dark-colored jacket or coat while in the blind. Wear an orange vest to get to and back from the blind.

The octagon shape is a bit of a pain on the construction side, but it's really nice for eliminating blind spots. My son and I built this one in our garage last winter, and moved it out there in the spring.

I've since added curtains (black felt) and marine carpet. I think I will add a carpet pad as the floor is still a bit loud.
I hunted out of it for the first time last weekend (SD opener) and filled both my landowner tags. Man was that satisfying.

Made one like this too. Problem is the straw needs to be redone about every year or 2. I'm going to redo mine with wood and paint it.
Yup, my buddy and I are going to re-tarp then wood slates up and around. Funny enough I brought this idea up to him when he was building it but he wanted to keep the weight down for moving it with the little trailer. We are going to set it up so that I can get under it with the tractor bale fork.
