No, its small chips, used to soak up liquid spills but also makes a great soil amendment, can be used in place of perlite, holds more water and doesnt break down as fast outside. I dunno what it would do in a brass tumbler... Be interesting to find out maybe! Dont breath the dust tho, can harm your lungs. It is a branded name of diatomaceous earth.
