Ordered a new F250 in Feb and got it in October. Sold my 2018 with 40k miles in 3 days. Happy with the new one and the guy who bought mine is happy as well. I didn’t think the wait was too bad considering.

Popular vehicles, 3/4 and 1-ton trucks in particular are still in short supply. Half-tons are readily available. Special ordering anything (if they will even do it) is out around 6-8 months.

Coworker of mine wanted to special order a Toyota 4Runner, local dealership said no to that and you pretty much have to buy what's available or in transit. He ended up finding what he wanted at another dealership and had them deliver to Bismarck.

I'm in the mood to replace one of my vehicles, the 09 F250 has 165k on it, while my 2015 4Runner has 117k. Nothing wrong with either of them, but I need to infuse some youth into my vehicle lineup.
Toyota is not part of the discussion. They have and always will be highly sought. Why not buy the new 4runner.

Reading this makes me wonder what my 2018 2500 HD Denali with 35000 miles is worth:unsure:

Rydell in GF has a good amount of 1500s but can't keep 2500s and 3500s in stock. Of course this is the town that has more Escalades and Suburbans/Yukons per capital than most (every soccer mom owns at least 2). Unreal how much $$$ is parked at the hockey rinks on any given Saturday/Sunday.😁
They have 10 HDs on the lot and another 8-10 coming soon. A few on the lot have been there almost 2 months it seems like. All of the 2500/3500s are finally being discounted too. Not much but most are in the $2000-$3000 off MSRP.
I've been looking around and it seems like most dealers have a decent inventory of HDs now.

I sold my 2019 Denali 2500 6.6l last fall for $8,500 more than I paid for it three years earlier. Of course, it cost me $2,000 more than sticker price for a new truck. Not bad for putting on 30k miles and owning it 3yrs.

I'd be getting out of a 6.4L Ford sooner than pretty much any 4Runner, and I really like Ford pickups.

Go to edmunds.com and find "like" vehicle, give you a very good indicator.

They have excellent filters to put in what you want.

There have been really no updates to the 4Runner.

And, while probably more accurate, the fuel economy on the new ones is rated slightly less than the fuel economy of my 2015. The local dealer has a 2012 4Runner with 41k miles, they are asking $28,500 for this 11 year old vehicle, which is only $10k less than I paid new for my 2015.

Eide Ford has a pile of half-ton pickups, maybe I should go the route of having two pickups.

This is good advice.

Yeah, I hear this often. But I have no complaints at all with mine. One exhaust sensor and an exhaust manifold is all I've done to it outside of routine maintenance.

Edit: Note, I can replace the engine in my current truck 4-5 times for the cost of upgrading to a new truck.

But, can you "afford" the time it'd going to take for any major fix?

If you look @ the 2 vehicles you mentioned, the smart $$ would bet on major repairs to the F250 before the 4Runner, thus my replacement suggestion.

I have been shopping for something in that ballpark. I'd say that's a $60,000 rig any day of the week
Yes but they have come down a little I have friends in the business. I have 2021 1/2 ton model thought about selling. Then I look and prices are stupid I paid 12 k off sticker new zero % interest gmc 5 years, now 2 k over and huge increase in the retail with covid years. Will wait for now just damn itch a person gets.

Can't disagree with that, I am thinking I'd need to put another 25-30k on the F250 before it'd be at the head of the line for replacement, if'n I do replace the 4Runner first.

I'm in no great hurry right now as it's still something I'm trying to figure out.

My 16 Chevy Crew cab Duramax just turned over to 50,000 miles.
Only reason I would like a different one would be for the front and overhead cameras.
Don't think I will go looking.
Bought my bride a 23 Lexus RX 350 front wheel drive this summer, for her 1 year cancer free report.
