Get my kids out more. Myself I really don't care if I catch a big one don't try. I usually put the first 5 eyes I catch that are good eaters in the live well. Then go home.

Land a 50+ pound Tarpon.
Tangling with big tarpon would be a saltwater dream come true. they look like a lot of fun to play with. I guess id have to leave North Dakota to do that though. Im ashamed to admit Ive never seen saltwater in my life. My travels are North Dakota to Texas and a few states wide, Ive never had the chance to leave the Grainbelt

A legit sakakawea ten pound walleye not just a 30 incher, a paddlefish over 100 and one under 10, or any walleye over 33.5 inches. And last another sauger over 5 lbs.

1st keep catching more and bigger fish than the wife haha

2nd add to my list of species or catch a bigger one

channel cat 15lbs (nebraska) 14 lbs in Sak
blue cat 10 lbs (nebraska)
flathead cat 12 lbs (nebraska)
bullhead 3 lbs (kansas farm pond)
walleye 8 lbs North Dakota in what is now a field
perch 13 inches Lake Darling
bluegill wife has me beat with her 11 inch 1.38 pounder
crappie 16 inches (nebraska)
Northern Pike 42 inches Sak
ling 3 lbs Sak this year I have only caught 1 so far
bowfin 32 inches (lake champlain, new york side) nasty looking fish, look like a cross between an eel and a catfish with teeth from a northern but they do put up a fun fight
white perch 10 inches (lake champlain, vermont side)
I don't count the trout I catch as the ones in Northgate taste worse than muddy in the cooler for 3 days bullhead
Smallmouth Bass 6 over 5 lbs in the chazy river in north east new york in 2 summers I know that will be hard to beat in North Dakota
Largemouth bass 7 lbs (Kansas)
white bass 4 lbs (irrigation dam in nebraska)
Muskie 38 inches (chazy river new york)

A day on the water with my friends and family and a limit of eaters.
or a big dick contest on a whopper club fishing shenanigans outing, both would make my season

Catching a Sak salmon on the lake is my number one. After that refine the downrigger bite for the suspended walleyes on Sak.

My favorite, and best fishing memories really have nothing to do with a huge catch. I have fished with one particular friend for 30 plus years, he always out fishes me, but those are not the days we reminisce about.
it's hard to explain in a bragging, Facebook world, but my best fishing days are not hanging on my walls.

Been after a state record Smallmouth forever. Figured it was more attainable than other game fish in ND and what a fight.... still spend allot of time looking for that one fish.;:;popcorn
Came sort of close a couple times but no dice. Dakota Country from April or May or June 1999. A nice article in there of me and my obsession of smallmouth. Is anybody here old enough to have that?

Hopefully get my Grandson home for some fishing this year... got him into bluegills, bullheads, perch, and a Northern last summer. His first fish was a bluegill thru the ice last year on Crown Butte. Only problem is he is living in Japan. Daddy is USMC.
