You sure do on the coastal boats. Around here, far too many of the boat manufacturers we like for ND are owned by Brunswick. Hence the damn factory rigging for Mercs. I find myself to be a big fan of Yamaha motors, which sucks because I love Lund boats and they are in the Brunswick family. I asked one time what it would take to put a Yamaha on a new Lund and it was about a $3k upgrade due to the factory rigging, if I remember correctly.

Although I'm kind of a Lund guy myself my next boat may very well be an Alumacraft for this reason. They are independently owned and you can rig them however you want.

I remember my dads old evinrude. The cowling was off more times than it was on. Friggen solenoid would never engage.

funny you say that. I had an old starcraft with a 75 johnson on it. There was more than one occasion we had to tap on the starter with a hammer to make sure the brushes had good contact!

20161002_113939.jpg2009 WX1880 with 200 HPDI, T8 kicker, troll master, 2 Humminbird 998c hd si, Helilx 12 hd si, Minkota 112 ilink 60", all networked. I have been looking to upgrade but its hard to find anything that justifies the price increase. Not to mention nothing is rigged up like this.

Those 1880s have been the best bang for the buck for a long time! Before that it was the sylvan viper. Still good boats to this day, very good boats.

tried selling my father in law on a sylvan viper. He was not a fan of the bow.

Got no pics on the new puter yet but have a 2011 starcraft viper 206 hull with everything else a 2013. 225 optimax is loud but goes like a raped ape! hole shot is amazing. I like the room in the bow of it. fished 2 guys and no problems with space. were the older ones smaller?

Yea allot smaller. Did you buy the blue one wrapped with the fish skeletons that was on Walleye Central? Because I saw it head north of Beulah shortly after it was for sale out east, thought that was a cool looking rig!

If you are interested in a YarCraft 219/350 I will have one available at the end of this season. Mine is being built as I type.
