You sure do on the coastal boats. Around here, far too many of the boat manufacturers we like for ND are owned by Brunswick. Hence the damn factory rigging for Mercs. I find myself to be a big fan of Yamaha motors, which sucks because I love Lund boats and they are in the Brunswick family. I asked one time what it would take to put a Yamaha on a new Lund and it was about a $3k upgrade due to the factory rigging, if I remember correctly.
I remember my dads old evinrude. The cowling was off more times than it was on. Friggen solenoid would never engage.
Those 1880s have been the best bang for the buck for a long time! Before that it was the sylvan viper. Still good boats to this day, very good boats.

2012 Stratos 326 w/ 225 HO, 15HO kicker, and 101# Terova. Has been a great boat but want to go faster than 54 mph. Evinrudes have run great with no issues, have 176 hrs. on 225 HO. am looking to sell and try #7.
