Not sure of the legalities anymore. There may still be a fifth option: blood test after a "blow". Key thing is officer ARTICULATION of OBSERVATION in the field and results at the Intoxilyzer(sp). You'll need a lawyer and some jack. You may indeed beat the rap but be prepared enough to spend enough money for a decent new boat or new truck engine. It ain't something to eff around with. On the peripheral; Jake at State Farm may not look upon you favorably during the process...

I guess I will discuss a bit more: On average; 1oz of booze; IE: one beer or one shot takes an hour to leave your system via urine and breath. A belly full of food can dilute the process with absorption which is why you ain't drunk after a meal. This doesn't last long with a a continuation of libation.

My God I need help getting rid of these gd cats. I could only shoot one in my divorce apartment at the food pan with a CB without major drama with the other. Both have claws, ball-free and all their shots, I'm in Minot. Please PM and help a guy.

Here's why they might be worth the $100... Lots of folks think they are fine when legally they are far from it. If you have one of these and it shows someone on the edge and they choose not to drive even though you feel "fine", it's probably a good decision and money well spent. But, don't rely on it of course. Just another tool to help you make an informed decision.

Doesn't negate anything I said and not saying it doesn't. Rock n Roll.

Used to love walking up on a routine traffic stop with the radar detector going nuts. IMHO, it's a good device to tell you you're getting a ticket. Or can be a good laugh for the officer if you're not a tool and have your shi'ite in order. Turn on your dome light and activate hazards at night. Ask the officer to move your your hands from the steering wheel. It will likely prevent a BLM situation even with a car-load of children. Keep your interior lights ON: Reason being: You can't see outside and the officer IN CHARGE can glance up and see within your vehicle. If the officer decides to put you in the passenger seat, don't be drunk.

Trying to be a pal.

I hear stuffing a copper penny up your ass works too, but a roll of them is recommended for better results, of coarse one at a time
and older ones have more copper. but also if you can get five or six in there all the better.

I would be a little leery of relying one one of these. I have had a number of DUI cases where the actual blood alcohol content is MUCH different than the PBT -- and this is from the PBT being used by law enforcement. I recently had one where it was off by .11%! Guy blew a .20 on the PBT and blew a 0.09 at the station. It is commonly off by 0.03-0.05% from the actual test. That's why they are inadmissible in Court to prove the actual BAC.

There are a lot of variables that make it more or less reliable -- like how hard you blow and how recently you had alcohol in your mouth. Too many variables to make it reliable on any given night.

Here's a thought. We've all been told that an average Joe can process one drink per hour. That's an ounce of liquor, 12 ounces of beer, or (I believe) 4 ounces of wine. I know that everybody here is blessed with the God-Given ability to handle double that, since we're all big tough outdoorsman. But the truth is, one per hour. That's it. If you stick with that, you don't need a PBT.

If you drink more than one per hour, you're asking for trouble.

If you can't remember how many you drank, you are IN trouble. Don't drive. At that rate, you are asking for it, should you get pulled over.

And yes, I have had a DUI. And yes, I have learned my lesson.

And no, stopping drinking altogether is not the end of the world.

We paid 100 bucks one way to take a cab from my buddies house in the hills just outside Sturgis to the Buffalo chip (5 miles) and another 110 bucks to get home after the kid Rock concert at 2 am. Best $210 a guy could spend. Not that I am a wealthy man, but that is cheap insurance right there. We drank, ate, smoked cigars, drank some more, likely sobered up after the 2 hour rain delay, but still would rather avoid a situation after making it this long with a clean record.

I bought a permanent ice house with the justification of DUI prevention...

If any of you are familiar with the show "Shark Tank", I believe there was one on that show that got a deal. Hooks up to your mobile device. I've heard it's pretty accurate. I'm not sure the name brand of it, but I'm sure if you googled the show a person could find which one it is.

One of my favorite albums when I was in collage. The non-live version was much better than the one in the video. My roommate proceeded to put a big scratch right in the first minute of the song. Bummer!
Thanks for the memories!

Really? The recording may not be the "best"; I think they did a fine job of preserving the intent and integrity of the music while kicking it up a notch. '70s KISS could do that also; definitely not so much with Zep most of the time.

I use the Alcohoot, works with smartphone. I think it's worth it, I like it.

Another guy who was a cop brought in his and they were always within a .01 of each other.

its worth it to have stashed in the bag.

i pretty much don't use it a lot cause I have figured over time how many I can have before heading home.
