Drove the Audubon refuge loop today and most of the east side of the lake is froze over, there was one guy fishing Nelson.

Hey guys, buddy and I went to Scooby first this morning to check ice. Had about 4 inches at the access point. Tried the north side as well, looked pretty sketchy. Decided to go to Nelson Bay...south side of Audubon. When we got there, 2 guys were set up about 50 feet off-shore straight out from the access point. We walked out to check thickness, found solid 4-5 inches. Grabbed our gear and headed out...set up in 13 to17 fow. Ended up catching 7, kept 5...keepers 15-17 inches...fished turned on about 5pm. Great day to be out...if you go be safe...go with a buddy. I wore a life jacket, spikes, and used a spud bar!

There are a few guys fishing in my area on the bays. Main parts of the lakes are still wide open.

Audubon main lake still open as well. Temp projections now seem to be warming from last weeks outlook. We'll see how the next week or 2 goes...if you venture out be safe!

Found 3-4" on a couple small lakes between McClusky and Drake. This warming trend scares and disappoints me :/

I am happy for the deer hunters to get some nice weather though!

I'll be doing some recon as well with the hope of finding some good fishing. In fact I took all of next week off so I best be fishing like every other day..... says me, not the wife

Went out today just to get out of town with a good friend to 2 lakes. First was a very solid 6 inches.
the next lake we went to was almost 8 inches of the most beautiful solid, clear ice a guy could ask for.

No ice down here even small sloughs starting to open up. Lots of ducks and geese which makes me happy.

Fished 3 mile on Audubon tonight, there was almost 6 inches of ice. Fishing was slow, 1 walleye and was clipped off by a northern.
