Yep...no doubt BRK. We fished Darling yesterday morning...still had 7 solid but shoreline getting weak. Thinking 2 weeks for sure after the temps they predicting this week. Week after next looks cold again...we'll see...gotta love mother nature!

Ice has turned very sketch in my area. Going out anytime before the weekend for me will be off limits.

Coming back to Bismarck this weekend, south Hobart and Cleveland slough had a lot more open water than they did on Wednesday. I'd bet they're half open by now. I'd love to get out but I think I'll wait for a cold snap.

Doesn't look like any real "ice-making" weather until sometime in December right now for the southern part of the state. I know my pond in the backyard had a good skim of ice on it, but has started to look pretty iffy over the past few days.

Stopped in and took a peak at Lake Patterson, SW of Dickinson, by the east ramp near NDGF. Saw a area about 30 yards X 50 yards open. Rest of lake looked like water on top of some thin ice. What can you expect when the area has 60 to 74 degrees over Thanksgiving!!! ;:;popcorn

One great thing is that with late open water and the lakes with ice should be good for light penetration to keep oxygen levels up to prevent any winter-kill, or at least minimize it. Hope we have a wet and mild winter with most days with highs 10 degrees or higher. I would be happy with only 3-4 feet of snow all winter. Then give us an early spring to work on the “Honey Do List” and enjoy the summer fishing.

The 10 day forecast doesn't show any real ice-making weather. At least where I am at.

Beginning next Wednesday, looks like highs projected to be in the teens...lows in the single digits...up here in the north anyway. But guessing we will have lost most if the ice...so gotta start all over...weird beginning to the winter with the temps for sure. At least there are no big storms projected as of now.

Anyone know if Devils lakes or connecting lakes still have safe ice to walk out on?

Not sure V...just check the ice status on these report pages every few days...see how the DL area is doing with ice.
