A little part of me dies inside when I read recipes involving cream of mushroom soup and wild game haha. Smoked wild turkey is excellent. Also slicing the breast meat and making jerky is also really good.

You can can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sauté it. There’s ah turkey kabobs, turkey creole, turkey gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir fried. There’s pineapple turkey, lemon turkey, coconut turkey, pepper turkey, turkey soup, turkey stew, turkey salad, turkey and potatoes, turkey burger, turkey sammich.. that’s about it...

Don’t..Just don’t add it to a crockpot with cream of mushroom soup. Please.

Tried every way over the years, and settled on crock pot. Pretty idiot proof for a lousy cook like myself. Impossible to overlook and turn into hardened rubber wild turkey.
Still haven’t figured out how to remove the tendons in the leg. The thigh to knee is eatable, but below the knee is just a mass of tendons. I saw a short video on an outdoor website of how to remove tendons from pheasants but lost track of it. Wonder if it works on turkeys?

I've removed pheasant tendons with needle nose pliers. I might try confit method the legs and thighs with my next turkey

Yep you're right, substitute wild turkey breasts for any, I mean any recipe that uses chicken breasts. I've made jerky from pheasant ant turkey, but mainly pheasant.

Oh...and another thing, don't tell anybody that they are eating wild turkey and they won't be able to tell the difference, they will think its turkey or chicken like they buy in the store.
