My buddies and I decided to take the cow licenses. We are all in our 70’s. If we quit trying for the bulls that increases the odds for younger folks. Same with deer. They all taste the same.
Hope you draw . Will be interesting to see the demand for these

I’m in my early 60’s and have had my cow elk and cow moose license. I have never looked back and wished I hadn’t gone that way. I enjoyed every aspect of both hunts. I would do it again in a heartbeat if I could. Didn’t have to buy beef those years which was real nice .

Might be a bit of a pumpkin patch out in E3 this fall with almost 500 elk tags in the unit . If I had a cow tag I’d try fill it in the August season or wait until the January season

I am only 55, and in fairly good condition all things considered, however that can change in a hurry. Decided time to start going for the easier tags, and get at least one of the big three knocked ou

Left overs counting for once in a lifetime is dumb. We don’t even use preference points for left over
Then don't apply. That is what I am doing... not applying because I want the bull tag someday.
Some of you guys would bitch if the NDGF said the sky was blue.

If they didn't make these leftover cow tags a once-in-a-lifetime tag, your odds would be worse than drawing the bull tag in the regular draw. You would have 20,000 people applying for 10 tags. Then guess what... cue the complaining AGAIN on Nodakangler.

I wont i will just apply here and not use any points to get a cow tag. ND big game draws are dog shit all the way around getting to hunt mule deer once every 7 years would suck donkey balls

Agreed . I’d love to hunt elk in ND but I’ve shot elk in other states and not ready to use up my eligibility on a cow tag just yet . Maybe one day . But not yet
