Question for you guys that own meat grinders

The cutting parts, blades and plates I store in a ziplock bag full of rice. Have never had a problem with rust. Rice is supposed to absorb moisture. Do make sure they are dry before storing so not sure if the rice makes a difference. Rice is cheap so I do ti this way. Have never replaced the rice in 15+ years.
