I don't do much that would stress out a run of the mill drill so I have a hard time justifying a $200+ drill. I've been using a 12v masterforce drill set and they have treated me pretty well over three years. When I purchased them, I was fresh out of school with very little income but needed something for maintenance. They'll be good for in the house now. I think I'll look at dewalts for my next set and get into that 20V area. Milwaukee tools would be nice to have though.

I am happy to announce that I am no longer a settler. .... no more grey water soup for me.

And I have a fresh lolly pop any dang time I feel like it.

Milwaukee from here on out for this guy.

There is no shame in being a settler. I was once one too. :)

If I was making money with a tool I wouldn't settle

Around the house, they all work about the same, only difference is I can't come on here and brag about how much I spent for it.

Ha ha, guys who pay big big bucks for boats, guns, rods (way better than they need) saying if they made a living on these items THEN they could justify the cost. Classic.

I have no idea what I paid for my Milwaukee tools. But I know my milwaukees are beat up and still work great and I have had other tools that were cheaper but were a drag to use the entire time they lasted. Yeah, I came on here to brag about how much I spent. Sounds legit.

my makitas crapped the bed before my milwaukees. All tools are NOT the same around the house. Your statement suggests you don't do much with tools around the house.

good tools are worth it, at home, on the water, in the field.

p.s. JH II - why are you always so Debbie Downer? You seem miserable as hell.

Check out CPOtools.com much better deals. Also the reconditioned stuff comes with new batteries. Buy a good tool once and use it for a lifetime or two, buy a cheap tool and use it for a year or two, your choice. I'll buy once and let my kids and hopefully grandkids use it.

I dropped 179.00 bucks on a Makita drill 10 years and it has been great. Like Millwaukee as well. I have my tools and the wife, her cabbages.

Ridgid is owned by home depot. When I worked there we were told to push the service warranty to the point of actually telling the customers that how it worked was they would call a number and tell them it wasn't working right and the company would replace it for free and you keep the old tool. This was to be said with a wink and a nod to the fact that the original tool could still be in full working order and no one would ever know. Was a little weird having the store boss push it this way but made allot of customers happy getting whole new kits with multiple tools because a hammer drill broke....or didnt. It was a screw up in how they had it setup and would have to assume it's been changed but never know they may still be doing it.
