Hard to find a good river boat around here. I've found a couple but they want 8k for a 3k boat. Giving thought to just buying. New. Can get 2017 Lund fury with 40 Yamaha for 12,500.

Check out MN a guy can often save a fairly big chunk of change by buying over there.

Check out Minnesota. For what ever reason boats in ND are way over priced. People regularly buy boats in Minn, Wis and Mich use them for a year, sell them in ND and still make a profit.

You do have to admit that when you live close to the river that may not be the best place to buy a river boat. Some good advise on here as to where to look. I don't ever rule out new anymore. Most of the time buying used can save you some money but occasionally when you are looking for a highly sought after item, new is the better deal. When I was looking for a boat such as you are looking for it took me over a year but I eventually did find a very usable boat. Did not find that boat in ND however.

I played the same game you are 6 years ago. I finally said screw buying used and picked up a holdover lund Alaskan 1600 for I think $14,000. Never had any trouble with the boat, no worries about getting something someone beat the crap out of. There are some good deals to be found on used boats but the market here is crazy. I picked up a used boat for bowfishing this last year and all we've done is stick time and money into making it work, replacing small parts and getting things to run just right. Atleast when you buy new you know what you are getting. Just my two cents, never looked back or been disappointed that I bought a "cheaper" new boat and the 60hp tiller gets me around on the river just fine.
