The birds left early this year in my neck of the woods. I haven't saw a robin in months.
We saw very few since the first clutch.

It's like they only clutched once instead of two-three times.

I wondered if they didn't head north - and we'll see them come back through in large flocks this fall.

Well I had one in the shop this morning that decided he didn't want to leave. So there is at least one around...

Yet in the spring (and before spring) they come back when its cold. If i had wings --- i would leave next week and you wouldnt see me until June 1.

Hummin birds ---- they leave for cancun area ---- thats unbelievable --- no wonder they havent perfected foward facing sonar yet -- they fly too many miles :)

I’ve decided robins are way tougher than I always assumed they were. Sometimes they’re back a month before it’s half decent… cold wet ####y March and they’re here in droves.

Recently i have new robin arrivals at my place after the resident robins left, they've been gobbling up the berries on my cedar trees, cedar wax wings showed feeding the same, beautiful birds.

Wife is worried about a pair of Gold Finchs that are still here at the feeder.

Gold finches are hearty little birds some most often spend winter months right in your backyard, as winter approaches they turn brown.ive had robins hanging in my pine tree stand the last two winters sctaching the pine needles for food, ive read robins dont feed on seeds, not sure how they survive winter months in northern states.

Taste like doves.
My great grandfather off the boat from Italy would totally agree with you. I'm told he loved early spring and .22 BB caps. He flashed fried them in a salted, smoking hot iron skillet.
