Got one on order. Interested to compare brake open and closed.
Just got one. Put on a Bergara 300 PRC and my son-in-law used it to shoot a cow elk. Didn't shoot it with the brake closed but was very pleasantly surprised how quiet it was with the brake open and how well it reduced recoil. Had a Banish 30 on it previously. It seemed at least as quiet and a reasonably noticeable difference in recoil.

Thats what I have kind of been hearing. I got a Banish 30 coming as well. Need to get a couple of the guns treaded as well, Savage Axis, Savage 111 LRH and my Ruger M77.

Just seeing what the feedback is on Seekins rifles. I plan on purchasing a "long range" rifle in 2026. Looking at the 7PRC or the 300 WM. Thinking to scope it with a Leopold VX5 HD. I will be hunting elk, deer , etc.... every insight is appreciated!

Budget is no more than $4k...ive been saving for three years to purchase my one and only specialty rifle

Good little video you may want to check out if you haven't seen it. I have watched a lot of the Backfire stuff for a while now and feel he does a pretty good job overall. I don't always agree with everything but close enough to be willing to listen

Well thought i would post an update. I ended up going with a Seekins Havok Element in 300 Win Mag. Next up is the scope and can. I originally thought of going with a Leupold but not so sure on that now. I got a little time to figure that out. Ive been looking at the Trijicons and Mavens. Any thoughts on those optics?

I’d wait until ~Apr when the new Nightforce NX6 hits the shelves. Pick from FFP or SFP and reticle as its floats your boat. They’re the right size, weight, and feature set for me, looking forward to seeing them in person.

You can run the turrets capped or uncapped ant your whim and have a zero-stop no matter what. ~23oz.

I’ve got a couple of Trijicon Accu-Point 2.5-12.5x42’s that have worked quite well for me as well. I just think for the same footprint and weight, the NF checks more meaningful features for me.

I poked around on Rockslide a bit. After seeing the tests and which ones were absolute failures, Vortex and Leupold are laughable at best. The Mavens, Trij and NF look like the real winners. . I was surprised to see the Swarovos, Leicas, etc. do less than stellar as well. Thanks for the link Kurt.

So do any of you guys have any insight on the SWFA's? I see it's kinda of running joke but curious if they do work. Thanks

If he has he would know the only correct answer is the 3-9 swfa haha or the new scope form and ryan are making
Buddy bought one of those several years back. I shot it @ the range once and hated it. The parallax was horrid IMO.

Most scope brands I can get by pretty well up to about 12x w/out parallax correction, not that 3-9 Chicken.

From a durability/repeatability of windage/elevation inputs standpoint, they absolutely work. Buddy that bought and quickly dumped the 3-9 also has a fixed 6x on an AR-15 and a fixed 10X that's bounced back and forth on a few but the last few years is mounted to a Tikka T1x 17HMR that shoots so good if the scope was ever an issue, you'd know in an instant.

Ya they work but until swfa gets another bunch they are hard to find. The new s2h scope looks promising. Built by low who does nf stuff and reticle usable through all powers but would guess it is 6 months to a year out. The new nf line looks nice also.
