of the millions of ducks that breed and pass through here every year, how many are actually shot? absent very dire circumstances, i can't imagine hunting has much of an impact on population numbers these days. maybe i am wrong.
You may be right but it's their only form of control, well that and predator control and weather modification..

Best i could find is the hip reports for 20-21. I didnt think that many ducks were shot but in 21 in both dakotas it was a total of 436200 ducks way more than i thought. 176895 of that was mallards. Here is the full report if interested. https://www.fws.gov/sites/default/f...vest-report-2020-to-2021-and-2021-to-2022.pdf

It was noticed by alot of people this year that there was alot more drakes than hens and the bios are trying to figure out why that is.

Ya looking at how it’s lining up I think we are maybe on the bottom end going to get three inches I was hoping for the 12 plus.

Had a feeling a couple days ago when they said trending south that it would fizzle up here.

Well, the latest weather statement now says that the Colorado Low is weaker than they had predicted and will stay further to the south lowering the overall impact. I was out earlier moving some snow off my driveway, and it’s really not too heavy to push with the Dakota Blade. I would guess we have about 4-5” here in Dickinson.
