Okay. I am going back to the modified choke.
I got to shoot twice last week. Plan to shoot twice also this week.

What about shells? A person I shoot with insists on 1300 fps as opposed to the 1200.

No worries zog crosses 45+yds 100fps difference 1 Oz loads you'll be aokay don't think to much and careful with range no - it - alls what works for one might not for you ,pattern your sc ammo to visually see your POI @ 30yds with different chokes. You will be surprised at all the pattern holes you'll have with 3" 20ga 1oz loads at 30yds using skeet,ic invector chokes but it's all fun unless shooting for bragging rights.

Shot tonight. Some what improved. 20 gauge, 26 inch barrel, full choke. 1300 fps 7 1/2 shot.
Any thoughts. Am I on the right track?

More dead a bird with 8 shot,.12ga 7.5 vs 8 shot 30 more pellets =more dead targets.,7.5 trap on windy days w/full choke not sure pellet count on 20ga.

The difference in lead comparing a 1200 fps and a 1300 fps at 90 degree crossing target at 40 yards going 40mph is approx 3-5". Recoil energy is 16.7# for the 1200fps and 19.7# for the 1300 fps. I normally shoot either 1160 fps 1oz or 1200 fps 1oz. In many shooters opinion the 1300 fps is only good for increased recoil. We typically shoot 600-1000 rounds on a weekend.

I like 1500 fps that's what I shoot birds with so that's what I practice with I bought my own clay machine I shoot 25-50 rounds 3-4 times a week from lots of different angles and distances practice how you hunt just makes sense

I only use a full choke makes you better
