Is America truly still that racist? We just got done with 8 years of a black president, one of the best Republican canidates was a black man, how many congressman and representatives and of different ethnic back grounds.
I believe the true problem is more how people view themselves. Hispanic American, African American, Asian American, ect.
We need to stop that. We are all Americans first and foremost. On top of everything else. I do not call myself German American. I was born in North Dakota, that makes me an American.

If only they knew that all they had to do was just ask you for the solution to the inequality they see, you could have just told them there isn't any. Problem solved. In fact I bet you could probably solve murder cases too by just telling people it didn't happen.
