its been a while since i've bought anything new, but i have a pants, bibs, a shirt and jacket from Predator camo in fall grey. seems less expensive than what you saw at scheels. https://www.predatorcamo.com/
you reap what you sew or is it sow, I am confusedThere’s options for stuff sowed here but the prices are even more expensive and there are not enough places that still sow in America to keep up. The other reason is no fabrics are developed in the USA . Gore and schoeller are both researched because the pfa out of country. A lot of the clothes can’t even contain pfa for dwr any more witch had added more cost to develop coatings that will perform the same with out those chemicals.
I look at it this way 500 for a pair of bibs I use them for 10 years that’s 50 dollars a year. I spend more than 50 at the gas station going scouting every time I go so it doesn’t seem like that bad of an investment. Then the customer service that comes with that price is worth it.
Banking snow around that tent would have helped alot. I know how much wood a person goes thru. Alway have twice as much as you think you will need. And keep a pot of water on the stove all night. Hot coffee, hot chocolate or tea really helps in the morning. Here’s a big difference you can walk back to the pick up in either Dakotas . Go out to the mountains and live a week out of your back pack and let me know how the cheap shit works. Sleep a few nights in these kind of conditions. We stayed 5 nights and temps were single digits at night and 20’s during the day. Had to keep water filters in sleeping bag or in person at all times . Boiled water each night and put in the Nalgene and in the sleeping bag at night so it didn’t freeze and added warmth. It lasts longer if you hunt four times a year it doesn’t matter. It’s why people don’t understand alpha glass unless you spend hours behind it. I had to use enough junk when I was broke I’m not broke any more.

Then you get to much condensation on the walls and the snow would melt and get all your stuff wet it was a floor less tipi. The stove is good for about and hour and a half of burn time so you would have to wake up to often to feed it. The stove is for drying stuff out and a nice little warm up before bed and waking up it’s not like a wall tent stove that goes all night. It weighs just at 2.8 pounds if I remember right it’s all titanium. No pots for water to heavy . This was 3.5 miles back in the seven devils area of hell’s canyonBanking snow around that tent would have helped alot. I know how much wood a person goes thru.
