Old timers talked about this method, They had spoked wheels that made it tempting and easy to ruin a wheel. They told about when they were helping a neighbor that was stuck with his tractor and slid a long log through both wheels , When he let the clutch out the tractor reared up and he slid back and couldn't reach the pedal , Tractor flipped over backwards, neighbor rolled out of the way just in the nick of time.
