Taking kids fishing

Wondering where would be a good place to take the kids fishing, from shore. Don't care what we catch, just want the kiddos to have fun. I was thinking Nelson lake. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Never been but I hear Nelson is the place to go for what you are looking for.

Nelson, Crown Butte, I am not sure how accessible the Owls Pond by the Game and Fish in Bismarck with the heavy rains we had, the creek following into the area was running a little over its banks for the last few days from the storms. I would be leery of the owls pond for now.

West Arroda is bone dry..... maybe East Arroda. I drive by every day to and from work and hardly ever see anyone fishing it.
