Why do people still plant these? Do they hate the people of the future?

Agreed, other than the fact they are a fast growing tree. They are on my property when bought ( dislike them ) they are a very weak tree. Broken branches all the time. Cottonwoods aren't far behind in being weak.https://beavertree.net/tree-hazard/an-epidemic-of-poplar-failures/

I had over 20 of those f8ker3s on my property when we moved in. Cut every single one down and replaced with a dogwood hedge. Glad we did!https://beavertree.net/tree-hazard/an-epidemic-of-poplar-failures/

One of the most outrageous bids you will ever get in your life is from somebody biddin on chopping down your trees. Are professional tree guys that effn expensive?
I enjoy my time off of the grind, and prefer to not risk a life altering injury trying to save a few bucks.
That being said, I have cut down several trees, and burn firewood every weekend in the summer around the lake, so not saying I am opposed to working and doing shit for myself, but the riggem and roll that guy had going on there just seems a bit over board.
Only thing more is the hospital bill for my broken neck, and sawed off wiener. One of the most outrageous bids you will ever get in your life is from somebody biddin on chopping down your trees.
In-laws have a bunch that are dead, every year 1-3 seem to fall down from wind or the such. I don't suggest taking a nap on the north side of their yard that's for sureYUCK. I'd cut have cut down any on my property while they were still green. Once they start dying they're dangerous as hell for traditional felling and I'd have to hire it out.
Had 5 big pines with stumps ground out for $2,000 last fall. They showed up after the kids got on the buss and gone before home so 7:30am-4:30pm. They hauled out the whole mess even, barely had a stick left in the yard afterwards.I had a 42ā cottonwood removed between two houses.two cranes and $3000 later and it was goneā¦one bid was $4000! the stump is still there as they wanted $600 for stump removalā¦
At that price I think Iād have had a go at the 3 1/2 footerā¦.grinI had a 42ā cottonwood removed between two houses.two cranes and $3000 later and it was goneā¦one bid was $4000! the stump is still there as they wanted $600 for stump removalā¦
I just had a stump grinder guy come in....probably didn't hurt i sprayed the whole yard with round up thinking it was curtailThey appear to be zombies too - will grow back again a few years after you whack em. How did you finally kill them?
I see them everywhere in rural country now too - miles from any farm. Like a new type of invasive.
you sawed your wiener off? I saw a video of a guy doing that online once, to himself, there was A LOT of blood, but it didnt cost much at least.Only thing more is the hospital bill for my broken neck, and sawed off wiener.
