Winnipeg is much more simple than people make it out to be. The biggest thing is to find the closest access, and know that the ride on the ice is SO much rougher than you can imaging.

I've stayed away until I had a snowmobile for travel. My biggest questions are where to stay and access. In my 4 trays of ice tackle, I'm sure I already have something they want.

I think I have used the same 2-3 lures for about 3 years now. I have a buddy that has used the same lure for the last 4 years. I think it has brought in about eight 12+ pound fish. Find your confidence lure and jig until your arm about falls off.

We stayed at the casino on the east side of the lake and accessed the lake at Prudens Creek. You can get live bait at Selkirk. When you get closer to going, we can cover the details of what we did and how we did it. The most frustrating talk is the difference between canadian water depth and our water depth, by that I mean, we (in the US) say that we were fishing in 10 FOW. In Canada they say they were fishing in 6 FOW under the ice. They do not account for ice depth when they tell you how deep they were fishing.

We met a guy and will be staying at his place this upcoming year and accessing from the west side of the lake. But for information pertaining to access, ice depth ect, you can call the bait shop in Selkirk or look up Lee Nolden on facebook. He is a fricken legend up there! Just follow his posts and you will learn alot.

I used Live Targets, Salmo Chubby Darters, Rapala Rattlin Raps, Lindy Darters, and PK Spoons. I will have some Jackals for next year. I only have a few different colors in each one, maybe 3 of each style of bait and 3 different colors. Think huge fish and big baits!

These guys have awesome action and rattle. They're about the same size as a #5 rippin rap. at about the 1/6 of the cost. I'm thinking probably too small for up there.

9 weeks on Oahe(ND) this summer/fall chasing walleyes. Two trips chasing roosters/coyotes in SD in October and December. Roosters all fall in here in ND and have the highest hopes of arrowing my first Mulie buck sometime this fall. Might head to MN for muzzle loader season. Would like to do a MT elk/deer hunt sometime but lack a partner with the same ambitions. Nebraska Muzzle loader isn't out of the question this year either.

Cycle trip to Glacier and then down to Yellowstone. Elk in Wyoming. Will be hunting every day I don't work. Will be a camping/bowhunting trip to the Slim Buttes area for antelope. Hopefully draw a Black Hills rifle deer tag so I can do a 3-4 day trip down there in November. Should have 5-7 deer tags by the end of the year. I've been fishing and riding every day I don't work.

What types of style of a hunt would you like to do? I might be looking for somebody to elk hunt with this year that is willing to put in some long miles hiking.

Well yea, a SD resident can get 5 buck tags or so just for SD right?
