Clearly no one here has read the regulations. It states clearly that boaters may not molest or annoy any shore Fisher. You're lucky my phone was dead so I couldn't call game and fish. You obviously knew you were in the wrong or you would've taken pics or called them yourself

I have fished that bridge for almost 40 years and this is first time I've had a boat try to crowd me out. It says in regulations that boats may not interfere with shore fishing. I told him that and he remained. I cast beside him and he scooped my line up and cut it so yes I did cast a few at his boat. Next time game and fish will be involved. As for the threats, come find me I'll be on the bridge

Reread the reg walleyejigger. Boats arnt allowed to operate ie. Drive within 100yrds of a shore fisherman. That does not give the shore angler preference. They even coverd this on one of the nd outdoors videos recently. First come first served. Now out of respect I agree boats should give the popular shore spots space. But really molest and annoy? That sounds a little entitled.

How ever. Did you catch anything from the bridge?

I'm afraid it does give the shore Ang Lee preferable because the boater has the rest of the lake to fish and shore anglers only have where they can cast. I didn't go crowd him. He moved in on me. I follow the regs and expect others to do the same

Here is my take on shore or boat fishing. When I get to a spot, I look around to see who is in that spot when I get there. If shore fishing, I go to the spot that is not occupied and fish, if a person happens to move or leave, I can then take over that spot. When in the boat and trolling I give way to the boats that were there before me, as boats that come after me should give way to me. If I get to a bridge to shore fish and there is a boat parked right by the bridge fishing when I get there then I will have to fish around that boat as he was there before me. I don't care if he is parked 10 feet from the bridge. If I'm there before the boat is then he should give way to me. No fish is worth getting pissed off, or in a screaming match, or a fight over. Be respectful of those that were there before you, and hopefully those that come after you are respectful of you.

I have fished grand for many years from boat and shore, that lake has more as holes then van hook on a Saturday during the hot bite. This time if year and early spring is really the only time you see shore fisherman on the bridges. I hve fished them many times from shore and the bridge without issue. I usually take the boat now to make room for another shore guy. See if the guys on the bridge had a graph they would realise they need to fish more vertical, but hey I have a boat so I guess I can't fish where the fish gather in the fall.

The reason you couldn't crowd me was cause you forgot to bring your floaties.....

Ya..... you did cast a little at my boat..... then one hit the back of my boat next to my buddy sitting down... and I think that was the first time a line got cut.... second time a line got cut is when you got tangled on my windshield, so I think I was actually helping you out cause I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want me any closer to you as I was pretty hot at that point..... so if anything you owe me a thanks

Too bad you didn't call game and fish cause I was ready to tell him to bust out the range finder

I can honestly say i have never had a migraine headache until i put up with this same bullshit scenario 2 summers ago at the 6 mile bridge and never again.. The decision to pull up to shore and fight or flight must have worked my brain up enough to put me in bed by 10 which just doesnt ever happen. Stress and fishing simply just do not belong in the same sentence. Right or wrong, live and learn; theres always guna people that just dont get it no matter what you think, do, or say.. Eventually some good will come out of it. Fish on!

Why do I have the feeling this argument is staged ?

Oh believe me..... it is NOT staged

no way that’s him - nobody is that dumb

hack

The funny part is and the gut feeling I have in my stomach is either someone on here knows "that guy " or someone on here was talking to "that guy " which made him sign up and make a post on this thread and no other thread... so either walleye jigger is actually walleye jigger or someone is fawking around.....and posing as walleye jiggalo

Here is the exact wording from 16. BOATING REGULATIONS...." Operation in such a manner as to molest or annoy
a person lawfully engaged in fishing."

That's pretty damn vague though..."he's annoying me by being here!!!"

- - - Updated - - -

Also, I wasn't aware it was ANY shoreline.

"• No person may operate a motorboat (includes personal
watercraft) within 100 feet of a person fishing
from a shoreline, a swimmer, swimming/diving raft,
or an occupied, anchored or nonmotorized vessel,
or within 250 feet of a reduced speed or slow or nowake
sign at greater than slow or no-wake speed."

Can one go under that bridge with boat?

Yes, as long as you don't interfere with the people fishing on or around it. When I go thru I usually tell the guys I'm going thru before I do it so they can pull there lines up.
