Riding in the sileage truck with my uncle while hanging out the window watching gramps cut the corn, and
GPA and dad taking us 6 boys in the bus out duck hunting by Medina. Special moments . . .

Sunrise over the hills, hot cup of coffee in the hand, Heavenly Fathers handiwork on full display in what feels like a blessing just for me. I think that's pretty good in this life.
Sounds so relaxing!!

Yeah just in my last few years since turning 40 I have had trouble sometimes killing birds of all things. I still bird hunt, and enjoy it, but whether its ringing the neck of a goose or rooster...I know it shouldn't bother me. I've been told birds have simple brains. I don't know.

I have no trouble shooting a coyote...then again I am not a dog person.

Maybe this all came about the last 3 years as my family adopted two cats from the shelter?
Not the only one..i have come to the conclusion i dont need to shoot deer anymore. Nothing against anyone that does..my kids still shoot them and its a absolute joy to watch them hunt. I just dont have it in me anymore. If i needed to do it for food I absolutly would.

Observing my kids as they grow and sharing outdoor adventures with them. How quickly time passes!

The topic being 'The good in life' is exemplified in the above pic. Someone that frequents this site donated the above 22 cal single shot to us with the simple request that we pass it on when the g kids have outgrown it. He can identify himself if he wishes. That time has come. If some youngster would like to be part of the heritage of this well used and cared for 22 single shot please reach out to me. It would be our pleasure to pass it forward!

Thank You Wirehair!! This post just made my year!!! So refreshing to see handshake agreements still mean something. Hope your g kids learned as much from that little gun as my daughter did. Thank you again. It means more to me than you probably realize.

The smell of a WV trout stream at dusk. Hot bread. A "one hole" group. A warm cinnamon roll/cold OJ to kick a hangover and the receptionist bringing this to me in a motel. Picking up a squirrel shot through the ear/eye with a .22. Picking up a turkey cleanly killed with a .22. Busting a cock/ sharptail/hun with a 100yr old M12 "Nicole Steel Winchester... 16/28ga guns I can't afford.

The 16ga(again) and rock music which somehow correctly vibrates my molecules. There's more: "The Proud Rebel" and "Land" are two movies I'll never miss an opportunity to watch.

I also like cheese. That is all:

"A one hole group"!! Those seconds checking the back stop for the flyer suck until you realize what happened. What did I do turns in to Look what I did pretty quick. :)

Light frost, 3:30 AM, hot cup of coffee and a dip, driving down a section line to the headlight shadows and a bouncing coyote, or two, as you pull up to a good location where you set traps. The exact same feeling as watching a slip bobber sinking in an ice hole or a huge red mark on the Vexilar.
