The smell of fresh cut silage. The smell of fresh cut alfalfa.
The smell of fresh cut silage. The smell of fresh cut alfalfa.
The smell of freshly dug/turned over dirt in the spring. The smell of fresh cut silage.
Sounds so relaxing!!Sunrise over the hills, hot cup of coffee in the hand, Heavenly Fathers handiwork on full display in what feels like a blessing just for me. I think that's pretty good in this life.
This right here...as my kids have gotten older I have been having a blast! Tear up every now and then knowing its going away. That and when they get older and participate in the same interests as yours.
Not the only one..i have come to the conclusion i dont need to shoot deer anymore. Nothing against anyone that does..my kids still shoot them and its a absolute joy to watch them hunt. I just dont have it in me anymore. If i needed to do it for food I absolutly would.Yeah just in my last few years since turning 40 I have had trouble sometimes killing birds of all things. I still bird hunt, and enjoy it, but whether its ringing the neck of a goose or rooster...I know it shouldn't bother me. I've been told birds have simple brains. I don't know.
I have no trouble shooting a coyote...then again I am not a dog person.
Maybe this all came about the last 3 years as my family adopted two cats from the shelter?
This may seem weird but in the spring.. first fairly warm day there are railroad tracks where i hunt. I can smell the ties...just something about the prairie and smell of railroad ties ha.
Probably not healthy to smell it but i am not huffing it..only wiffs of it with the prairie haCreosote.
Thank You Wirehair!! This post just made my year!!! So refreshing to see handshake agreements still mean something. Hope your g kids learned as much from that little gun as my daughter did. Thank you again. It means more to me than you probably realize. The topic being 'The good in life' is exemplified in the above pic. Someone that frequents this site donated the above 22 cal single shot to us with the simple request that we pass it on when the g kids have outgrown it. He can identify himself if he wishes. That time has come. If someone youngster would like to be part of the heritage of this well used and cared for 22 single shot please reach out to me. It would be our pleasure to pass it forward!
LB has it figured out, well done sir! When you reach that point in your hunting life that you let that OLD BUCK walk. Done that. LB
The smell of a WV trout stream at dusk. Hot bread. A "one hole" group. A warm cinnamon roll/cold OJ to kick a hangover. Picking up a squirrel shot through the ear/eye with a .22. Picking up a turkey cleanly killed with a .22. Busting a sharptail/hun with a 100yr old M12 Winchester. 16/28ga guns I can't afford.
The 16ga(again) and rock music which somehow correctly vibrates my molecules. There's more: "The Proud Rebel" and "Land" are two movies I'll never miss an opportunity to watch.
I also like cheese. That is all:
