Drifting the high plains
I like high places. Hunting the Badlands I can't stay away from the butt tops. When the wife and I have our camper behind crossing a pass in the Rockies and see a trail leading up that's where we will camp. Hunting the mountains and looking down from there I often wonder if a trophy walked past as my eyes were closed talking to my God.

The memory that I think of often is as a Dad walking into the house after working all day. And the kids come running up to you like your a super hero and wrap there arms around you. And say I missed you.

Them were the days.

Puppy kisses,
my 4 legged brown boy
still cool autumn,
being able to go to work,
laughing with friends and family,
spring walleye
winter perch bite,
vexilar Christmas trees,
when a tip up flag goes up,
either riding pickup or 4 wheeler through the gourge,
sleeping in on the weekends
getting a deer tag,
when the vikes win,
not working on the road anymore,
tending to the garden,
going to church on Sunday and listening to the good word
Forgiving others

This dog has made me friends from one side of the country to the other. Gotten me invited places i never thought i would go to. He has accomplished levels I never thought we would get to and heading to Tennessee in October to run the Grand with 1000 other dogs and opportunity to train with some of the best in the country.

Whats the pedigree of your dog...interested. Im working a new female right now. Most loaded ped I've had....75% are FCs. However, she's very soft. Almost too soft. Having my struggles. But...she is a bird maniac!

Really not much I didn’t really know pedigrees when I got him. He has a great grand sire that was a mh and a few generations back from that was fc afc black water Rudy. He is the highest tilted dog for three generations. He is softish with his quirks he does not forget if you make a correction at the wrong time. I’m an absolute pedigree nerd now always looking getting an other pup in a year or so. Who is yours out of?

This, both our grandsons were born profoundly deaf. Thanks to the U. of Mn hospital they were fitted with cochlear implants when only a few months old.
We were able to be present when the devices were activated, the look was as in that clip. Absolutely
one of the most amazing things I've ever experienced.

Awesome!! Yeah that clip was pretty amazing. Just seeing that little guy light up was pretty cool! Glad your grandsons had the same experience! Technology can be amazing in good ways!

When the coyote slows, turns broadside, and decides he needs a 2nd look….

When the dog’s tail STOPS and you realize it’s because he can see the bird.

Picking up a set of antlers in binos and he didn’t know you’re there.

Waterfowl tornados, just seeing them.

Bonus Partridge and Bonus Perch.

The DOLT that won’t use their cruise control taking the off-ramp.

HP remaining parked in the ditch/median or on the off-ramp.

80MPH Speed limits.

EFI 4-stroke Outboard motors

LRF Built into Great Binocs

Zero-stretch fishing line.

Mid-Summer deer in a green field “glowing” orange.

Spring wild turkeys you can honk your horn and make them gobble

Alpha, Lapua, and RWS brass.

S30V, Elmax, AEB-L, and Magnacut.

Hot water and flush toilets.

"A one hole group"!! Those seconds checking the back stop for the flyer suck until you realize whabullt happened. What did I do turns in to Look what I did pretty quick. :)
I once did a "ten" @50 using one of Grandma's patio/old dining room chairs for a rest after the scope fell off the gun in the woods. IDK/it happened: Dad and my uncle thought it amusing to distract me during the session; which was only intended for "three" after the scope remount: .45 hole/10 shots: Winchester T-22s; dirty as hell and accurate as hell at the time: 1 click left, probably unnecessary: Should've left that 4x/Tasco air gun scope on the rifle...I miss the parallax adjustment more than I like the the current 3X9 option available with this Redfield.

I've now got some 40grn Aguila hollow point "hell fire" loads@ advertised 1400fps; as accurate as CCI STDV. They'll all shoot in the same 1in square @50 ("dime" group--slightly different "center") and react the same past 75 due to physics and stuff. The "hellfire" loads will hit harder @50. It's all the "same" @100 dependent how the bullet transitions from super to sub sonic. Same with shotgun shells @40. It's pattern density rather than "power". "Speed" reduces "lead". Buckshot is a close range tool.

For a few reasons I like "Forrest Gump" and hope I didn't totally derail this thread..."Forrest" knew how to appreciate life:

My male has an impressive pedigree with a dog name Robby as his sire. He is gmpr etc whatever you call that and a MH. And in the bird dog hall of fame. Other notables are the Rooster smasher, Raider, Snapper, Blackwater Rudy to name a few. I shoulda had a pro take him. He will pass any test I'm certain of it. Just an unreal dog. Shoulda had a better trainer. All he lives for. He blew through a mock Sr level test about two yrs ago my my training. Now I just hunt him. My young pup sire is Hank from Chasing the Gold Kennels in Mn. Check him out. Hes quite impressive. Once i get her trained where I want her and hunt her to prove shes good and get health clearances done I may have a litter with these two. Think nice cross.

Nice pedigree on Hank. Grady dogs seem to be really good. It’s wild he won the nafc after having part of his lung removed from getting infected by a seed. Code blue is another one of the greats a hall of fame dog have heard stories about him. My next one I would like a mix of grhrch and fc dogs.

I went and looked at the other stud dogs and their Reno dog is loaded I bet he has some horse power

The many times I lived when I should have died. Grandkids I can still visit. The love of several dogs. Although I have done many stupid things, I have no regrets. I came out OK. I have an incurable, tho slow acting disease, I take pleasure in everyday and thank God for the years that I have had. It's been quite a ride.

One step closer to the end.
Early morning walks at sunrise.
As a kid having your Dad carry you across the river because you have no waders.
Praying that your Mr Heater will light on a cold morning's ice fishing expedition.
Your fingers like sausages when they get cold.
Mom making fluff (spreadable marshmallows) sandwiches for you when you were a kid.
Grandma's sauerkraut with pork ribs.
Grandma's blood sausage.
Shooting divers at last open water.
Mouth calling in Canada geese.
Walleye fishing in Canada on a pristine lake with no other boats and fisherman.
Ten casts in a row and ten keeper walleyes. (Canada).
Having your grandsons come over and the first words out of their mouth is "Hi Grandpa!"
My wife putting up with me all of these years . . .
