Thru Hull Transducer

Need some help from the experts. Can one run a DI transducer as a thu hull or does it need to be mounted on the outside of the boat? I would also love to hear pros and cons of an HDS 12 vs a Bird Helix 12.

I don't believe there are thru hull DI transducers. The transducer for the HDS 12 is pretty big if you don't already know.

The down imaging ducer must be mounted outside the boat.

You can get a LSS-2 compatible thru-hull transducer, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it.
