Anytime after bucks loose their velvet and the horns harden up I think rattling is an option. My best bow buck came on a pheasant opener evening and I just did some light rattling like a couple younger bucks sparing. Brought in a nice 4x4 at first and the 5x5 came from the other directions. Eventually let the arrow fly through the hub blind window

No luck tonight, my son and I were walking towards my blind and I seen someone in the shooting shack waiving orange at me so I waived and headed back towards the truck. Come to find out the nephew knew the owner was in Mexico and decided to hunt his property on opening with his girls and he didn't know I had permission to bow hunt. Im still grateful for the opportunity so I told the owner I'll wait until rifle is over and give it hell again!! Good luck to all the hunters!!
