some companies in the oil patch experimented with some Trundras but that experiment didn't go so well and they've all but disappeared.

Yes bed is small, back seat is huge. my 16 pro has a 38 gallon tank. I had zero issues with my 2010 and my 2016 was a year old in august, both trucks only saw a shop for oil changes.
We took our Tundra to glacier in August put on 3000 miles in Montana and averaged 19 to 21 miles per gallon calculating at the pump.
has anyone else been to Montana and notice better gas mileage? Is our gas here poorer qulity

Mileage on every vehicle I have ever driven gets substantially better fuel economy once we fill over the border in any direction be gas or diesel both always do better out of state.
Never been able to put my finger on the why though.
Wifes 2014 VW Jetta TDI diesel 6 speed manual trans when stock never broke the 40 mpg mark. I did full emissions deletes with engine ECM programming which gained it a lot more power and about 10 mpg gain in daily driving, she took it to Salt Lake city earlier this year and did 56 mpg on one tank on the way out there where she filled in miles city montana made it to Salt lake city spent a few days driving around that area and then part way back filling somwhere in idaho and making it home on that tank which did 53 mpg.Thumbs Up

Well ended up getting it. I like how it drove the 100 home and that it has some clearance other half tons seem to lack. Bed is small and back seat seems huge. Will give her the once over this weekend deer hunting. Still got the 02 chevy 2500 hd that has been an awesome truck. Wife likes this more than her ford edge to so you know the saying happy wife happy life.

Funny how body lines give the illusion of more clearance. I have a 2010 1500 4x4 Dodge ram quad cab and sitting alone or next to vehicles other than pickups looks like it sits fairly low but parked right next to any other 1/2 ton it actually sits the same height if not just a tish higher, heck lots of guys at work have new chevy and GMC 2500 rigs and my pickup is about the exact same height overall when sitting side by side but looking at the GM pickups alone look like they sit way higher.

there octane is lower than ours and I don't think they have as much ethanol as we do/

I've got a diesel but, I noticed it last week out in MT. For 6 days I got consistently 17MPG while hunting, stop-go, run 10mi on the highway, etc. Got 16 running 86-87 on the interstate. Now back home I'm getting 15ish @79-80.
