ive been thinking about that. Some good deals on em. Just Leary about it. But many do give warranty. But what a pain in the ass to have to pull it againGo to a wrecking yard and check their prices on a used one
did that include pulling it and reinstalling it?Did my 2004 F150 a few years back. If I remember correctly it was about $2400.
did that include pulling it and reinstalling it?
Need a tranny rebuilt on a 2002 f150. I have no idea what the going rate is for something like this now days. Anybody have a ballpark figure on automatic tranny rebuilds now?
I actually just think it’s the torque converter but damn I hate to pull it and just change the converter and that not be it.
Is the flushing something I can do or do I need a shop with the fancy tools. Maybe your saying change the fluid and run it a bit then change it again?Pull the drive shaft out of the transfer case and clean the splines really good on the drive shaft and as much into the transfer case as you can. then take some good grease and give the splines on the driveshaft a good coating. reinstall and drive it. see if that gets rid of the clunking and noticeable slack on the drivetrain. However a shutter in the drive train sounds like a torque converter. I would flush the transmission and the coolers, run it, then flush it again. Torque converter could have a build up of sludge throwing it off balance. I would flush two to three times first before pulling a transmission.
