It's for the teams at the bottom. Sounds alot worse when someones 0-5 or 0/5 and the rest of the field filled.#$%^&>:;:stirthepot

Then why when you catch 4 fish it says 4/4 not 4/5?

Most of the time it's 5 fish, 5 alive. Our Devils Lake casino tourney had a lot of penalties for dead fish today.

For the wind, and looking at weather stations around the area, it was about a horse a piece for each day being very much alike maybe a little stronger the afternoon of the second day. When they report fish it should be the actual number caught vs the max that can be weighed in(ex four fish caught with a limit of five = 4/5). If it reads anything other in the max caught they were either penalized or disqualified fish(ex five fish caught with a limit of five but one was penalized/disqualified = 5/4), but then again, just saying. I have not looked in the rules to see if they -- since it was a catch and release tournament -- actually do penalize/disqualify fish. There is a column for that on the first days weights, but no team was penalized as nothing was recorded. It also says 636 weighed and 634 released (100%)? I wonder what the mortality rate was? It is always all good though, right.

They do penalize for a killed fish. And if it says 5/4 it means they caught 5 fish and 4 were released, pretty simple. It states in the rules that you are required to use a killed fish as one of your 5 for the day also. 2 fish were not released on day one and those are clearly showing in the printed out leaderboard, again, pretty simple. there was a decent chop out there this afternoon!!

you can weigh up to ten a day but only use five highest weights toward your total. Saturday the wind was out of the west and Friday it was SE. Could have fished Friday even with higher wind because it doesn't get nearly as bad with a west wind. But honestly, we needed a day of recover after Friday's ass kicking out there. Today was great. Perfect fishing weather the majority of the day.

not out yet. We had 16.51 on Friday and 21.5 today. 38 pounds is a great weight but we won't even get a smell I'm sure. That's how nice the fish are now.

Thanks, I never knew that. Should have a separate column IMO.

Looking at what I said, I wasn't real clear to what I said, but I compared the wind for Sat and Sun....Sun being the second day that I spoke of. I know it is a judgement call, but when I heard they called a storm day, I was intrigued and compared Sat to Sun wind in what I stated. It is night and day difference when the wind comes out of the south, southeast and blows all that ways on the open water into Van Hook. The fish thingy -- 5/5 or 5/4 -- is from how they do things in the NWT Cabelas along with some other tournaments score sheets. I see on the first day's score sheet the two fish spoke of, but I see no penalty assessed? Maybe it is on the official score sheet. Neither of the teams big fish were 27 inches seeing their weights of the biggest fish they had recorded. Looks like the rules state that one can be kept with no penalty of 10% only if it is a trophy of 27 inches, all other dead fish will be penalized. Maybe I am missing something? Anyways, I would love to see what they figure the mortality % is on these fish -- you never hear of that, and I can guarantee release and live is not 100%.
