Van Hook Ice Fishing

I have always wanted to spend a weekend ice fishing Van Hook and am finally going to make it happen in three weeks!! I'll be dragging up the wheel house and the portable. Curious what the ice and snow conditions are up there. Also any suggestion for depths/types of structure to start with?
