I've heard they'll go super shallow under ice in the evening...Skip 3:45:

Few years back was fishing in 20fow and wondered what clarity depth was, looked down the 10in hole and realized I could see bottom and had a Walter swim up to my jig in typical me fashion I did not get a hook in him. Another time brother in law and I were crappie fishing in 15-18fow but was hooking a bunch 6-10ft below the ice, we switched to sight fishing and it was a blast

When I first got here I was told the auger needed to stir mud at dusk...

Also, I don't think I'd last 5min in a shell with this couple. He kisses her ass constantly then gently orders her around like a dog. The hole is the point of the post and the vid is better watched on MUTE. She may be the first victim of a cult leader.

That is all.

Not sure where they are but leaving a hole that big in the ice seems like a real safety hazard.

Seen many a nice walleye while spearing pike in water as shallow as 3 feet. So yes, it's viable.

Caught many walleyes with tip ups in water not much deeper than a foot or two under the ice….

I doubt it's a viable method for walleye, but someone should try it and let us all know.

We've been catching perch in our spear holes on Devils Lake this past week. That was in 15 feet of water. We watched them swimming up and staring at our baits without biting in typical perch fashion. Saw a few walleyes swim through but weren't targeting them so didn't get any. Caught probably 50 to100 perch that way. Did see some looking down our auger hole in 8 ft. but hard to see that way.
