Luckily it came slow easy over several days. This will soak into the expansive clay subsoil and carry us into winter. Hoping for a dry fall.

I'm surprised there isn't more settling of foundations in some areas down there. I've seen 3 feet of topsoil and soft wet clay with the consistency of pudding or butter below that.

Will always take the moisture.
Not a huge fan of getting totally dumped on with snow when colder than hell out when you know there isn't much moisture in there.

Reed timmer just came through Mobridge up in pollock now. Looks like for Yates is getting hammered. This really builds as it moves east. Radar looks like a hurricane swirl all the way up in to Canada with the rotation

Sunny now. It rained hard for a good bit. Gauge says just over 2 inches. It got windy after it rained.

Two tornados on the ground just west of mound city. We lost power here for a little while sounds like north everyone has no power.

Guessing the concrete we poured at 4 up there is going to be in tough shape

Working, well atleast that's what I call it, here next to Williston, the storm systems are deceiving when one looks at a radar to only realize that the rain clouds don't produce any significant rain especially when you can see pockets of yellow and orange cells within the system. It's strange when you can see that on the radar and there is nothing hitting the ground, not a familiar with western North Dakota. If I seen a system like yesterday roll through our site we would see monsoon rain hit but here it's different. Anyone have a thought why that's the case or is this type of situation I am witnessing just a rare occurrence?

Lincoln, kinda...
Not rare at all, it's called virga. Basically, it's when you see rain falling out of a cloud and evaporating due to a dry layer of air just above ground. Might be a little more common in overall drier areas, but it's not unusual anywhere in ND.

I thought perhaps it was from cloud seeding isn't that common procedure here
