Protesters Including Presidential Candidate Spray Paint Construction Equipment

Dr. Jill Stein spray painted the blade of a bulldozer

Protesters including a presidential candidate spray painted equipment this morning used in the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline.
The protest began around 8 a.m. when workers showed up a a construction site two miles east of Highway 6 on County Road 135.
Workers left as around 350 protesters gathered at the site. No incidents were reported between workers and protesters.
Presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein of the Green Party spray painted the the blade of a bulldozer. Two other pieces of construction machinery were also spray painted.
One woman from Pine Ridge had attached herself to a piece of equipment. Others climbed on the equipment.
Law enforcement on scene is keeping its distance from the protest site and a KX reporter on scene says he did not see anyone arrested.
In a Facebook post the Morton County Sheriff's Department says it responded to the site to find a broken fence, a protester attached to heavy machinery and equipment vandalized.

She was on Chris Wallace I believe it was this Sunday. The word twit came to mind.

What does this tell any other group --- go ahead and commit crimes --- ND / Morton County will not do anything. I personally think the oil line should go under the river at a place where the river is the narrowest and buy out any house within the prescribed footage -- however I really have a problem with trespassing and destruction of property or intimidation. In other words our government is not going to protect us from crimes caused by groups. MN did a good job with the blm bunch that were blocking roadways. They dealt with it and it was over like now.

Do to what is happening -- I know for a fact my parents/relatives will not set a foot in the casino anymore due to fear. They see this on TV and it turns them off.

So you would rather put it in a place where a spill would be harder to contain and then also force people from there homes?

I am sure a spot exists that nobody is forced from a home and the river is narrow. We have I am not a tree hugger -I know for a fact that jins really don't know how many pipelines run in this state. Sargent county - keystone 1 pipeline spilled --- if you wouldn't have farmers living close by the thing would of got out of hand -they never detected it. Lets face it - they cheaped on it and now they sit. Some babyboomer thought he had a good idea -- lets go across where they put the wires they will let us buy it cheap. I remember them damn wires -- they cost me my fishing spot from shore -- wires went in and they posted it so you couldn't have access.

New idea. Let's go protest the casino and if they don't comply we can trash the place. Oh wait the place is already trashed.....

Wires are not the reason they picked the spot the Northern Border pipline is why they went there. If you have a leak into the main river you are pretty much guaranteed to have the spill cover a larger area due to higher rate of flow.

Why dont the construction workers just work at night? 90% of the protestors will be drunk and or sleeping. Then if they do protest at night, you can arrest them for being drunk in public. No?

At this point they could arrest them for a laundry list of reasons. If I was the construction company I would get a couple buss loads of security forces and tell the state to get the cops down there to do their job and then I would be digging the he'll out of the area on the west side of 1806. It's time to show them for what they really are and get the big show going.

Our governor, Mr. Doolittle will not do anything about this, because he is about done with his job, and wants to look good upon his exit. He will let the next governor be the bad guy. These idiots will keep doing these things, its like kids who keep getting away with doing stupid shit, the more they get away with, without being disciplined, the more and bigger the stupid things they do. Somebody in our state government, or law enforcement is going to have to grow a set, and be the bad guy, and make these people go home, or the shit they do is going to get a lot worse.

While huffranger and I were enjoying some post-hunt busch lights on Monday, we seen some very interesting things while sitting on a gravel road near fort rice. It wasn't the idiot with Rez plates that blew by us going 50, spraying gravel everywhere. It was the four masked hooligans in a Chevy shoe box that rolled past us slowly. This situation is getting out of hand. The next step for them is moving north.

Kind of seems most of society is that way now unfortunately.

It's to the point of doing anything to stop any kind of illegal activity is racist, which trumps everything. Legality,, accountability, doing the right thing because it's the right thing to do, is pure racism, or at least on the wrong side of the law

Wires ---- natural gas line ---- cheap easements in that spot.

Sum1. They were driving one of those Chevy aveo things that look like a shoe box. All four occupants had face masks on. Clear it up?

I say let a few of the morons, I mean peaceful protesters attach themselves to some equipment and then run all the other protesters out and let them connected to the equipment for 2-4 days with no one else around and then let a few of the morons, crap I mean peaceful protesters get out the mess that is left after about 4 days. I agree with others that they need to put a stop to all this stuff or it is really going to get out of hand and someone will really get hurt. Even if a lot of the trouble makers are not local, I still put this on the tribe for not weeding out the trouble makers to try to keep it peaceful as the day they want it to be, there words not mine. With the powwow this weekend it will get interesting and I will not now or anytime in the future support anything to further the native causes for this tribe or in anyway shape or form. As stated by others, if they really cared about the land they would have started with the reservation and the homes and buildings we build for them over and over. Since the casino opened over 20 years ago, what and where have the millions upon millions the casino has taken been put to help the average native american on that reservation and not just line the pockets of a few elites down there. I myself would like to see an audit of where the money from the casino actually goes. Just food for thought for those of you that are still going down there as this goes on. dukgnfsn

So when this thing blows up and someone is seriously hurt or killed will Morton County Sheriffs department be held liable for dereliction of duty because they knew and actually witnessed laws being broken but stood by and did nothing? The longer they let this go the bigger the problem will be to clean it up.

This mess is going to get a lot worst. I wouldnt be suprised to hear the National Guard being called up, But that would require DoLittle to get off his ass. It is quickly becoming a lose lose situation. Im not sure a peaceful end is going to happen.
